External Hemorrhoids: Indications And Progression

Before using ointments or creams, check to see if they are steroid based. Steroids are good in boosting healing of ruptured tissue. However, they can thin the skin, causing a cycle of symptom acceleration if treatment goes on without modification.
Cleansing of hemorrhoid afflicted areas must be done with gentleness and care. The tissue is already sore and you don't want to make it worse. Wash by soaking and rinsing. Do not scrub or even rub.
